#98 – Healed but Not Whole

You are healed, but are not whole. The complete restoration will come through forgiveness. There are at least three parts to forgiveness, it is an act of your soul and completed in your spirit. This involves forgiving intellectually, emotionally and in your will.

Your intellect will recognize the offense and a need to forgive. This is your conscience. The emotional forgiveness is much deeper. The anger, the shame, the embarrassment, the fear and the pain reside here. You have a right to be angry. They do not deserve forgiveness, but neither do you. However, the measure you are willing to serve, is the same measure, you will be served.

The third area is your will, can you override the hurt and pain for a greater glory? Can you intercede? Can you pray for those that despitefully use you? We have the power to forgive, but only God can restore, what was lost. The restoration happens in your spirit.

Make a private list and pray for each person that hurt you, disappointed you and wronged you in some way. Begin to pray for them daily, until the offense subsides. The alignment of your will and MY word is the chemical reaction required, to experience the euphoria of complete forgiveness. Forgiveness is deliberate surrendering of your will.

Psalms 130
From the depths of despair, O Lord, I call for your help.Hear my cry, O Lord. Pay attention to my prayer. Lord, if you kept a record of our sins, who, O Lord, could ever survive? But you offer forgiveness, that we might learn to fear you. I am counting on the Lord; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word. I long for the Lord more than sentries long for the dawn, yes, more than sentries long for the dawn. O Israel, hope in the Lord; for with the Lord there is unfailing love. His redemption overflows. He himself will redeem Israel from every kind of sin.
