In a dream, I was traveling in a vehicle at high speed. It seems like, I was driving a larger type of van. This is important, because I have driven many large vehicles. The acceleration, braking and overall handling are different, in a larger automobile. These vehicles require more time to brake, accelerate and to make turns.
As I was traveling on an expressway with many other vehicles around me, each at varying speeds, I noticed my exit was approaching. I also realized that my vehicle was too large to safely change lanes and my speed was too fast.
This was the safest speed, based on the flow of traffic around me, yet it was too fast for my specific vehicle and to make the exit, for my destination. Choosing the safest option, I did not force my way over, I continued straight ahead. This was a mistake, I found myself on an unpaved ramp that was under construction. I was forced to come to a complete stop and was now sitting in sand.
It was a narrow road that allowed me to overlook the exit and roadway, that was missed, because of my speed and not being in the right lane. For a few moments, as I overlooked where I should have been, worry and frustration began to creep in. How am I going to get down from here? I had the feeling of regret and the familiarity of failure, I thought, “you did it again. How could you be so careless?”
As I looked down, I saw a vehicle that apparently entered the expressway traveling in the wrong direction. The resulting crash and vehicle pile up was catastrophic. I am certain there was a great loss of life, limb and property.
If my path had not been obstructed, If I was in a smaller vehicle or if my speed was slower, I would have exited and been in the middle of the accident. I learned that what seemed to be a mistake, was actually God protecting me. What I thought was an error in judgement, was actually a closed door.
When I was lamenting on missing God yet again, he was providing divine intervention. God’s grace is perpetually covering us and his ways are above our ways. I do not have to worry or be anxious ever again, God has me covered and has you covered too. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
Psalms 91:3-4
Surely He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly plague. He will cover you with His feathers; under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and rampart.
