You are being diluted, not because of something bad, but because of something good. It is the dissecting of a thing, that is perfect and whole, becoming two separate things.
Two independent things, that are competing for the same resources. It all looks good to the eye and was desirable in a past season, but that time has now gone. That season is behind you.
To take on this old thing, in a new season, would be a retreating and a sliding backwards. The placing of new wine into old wineskins or the cleaning of the body, to put on previously soiled clothing.
The enemy is using old goals and passions, to confuse you, causing you to turn away from the present, for the past. To turn your gaze, from what is ahead, to what is behind you. He is distracting you with a good, but a former thing.
“And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the wine would burst the wineskins, and the wine and the skins would both be lost. New wine calls for new wineskins.”
