The old man is dead and there is no reason to revive him. Who you once were and the things you once did are figments of the past. Some are limited to seeing the old version of you and no more.
That is not your problem, I have caused you to become a new thing an entirely differing person. Walk in this novelty and enjoy your new origins. You do not owe your past or the people from the past, anything.
The old must make way for the new, because the new you and the old you are like oil and water, they will never mix. Each is an opposing master, you will love one and hate the other.
I AM placing a demand on who you are becoming, but be mindful of who you once were. Allow it to give you a heart full of empathy and grace, because it is not by happenstance. The old you is the caterpillar and the new you is the butterfly.
Matthew 6:24
“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon [money, possessions, fame, status, or whatever is valued more than the Lord].
