It is because the right thing is not easy to do, many fail to do it. The difficulty is the determining factor, separating the chaff from the wheat. Taking a seat at the head of the table is simple, while building the necessity and a table, that honors is hard.
The efforts placed in finding a short cut are better used in solving the problem, in a systematic way, by traveling the narrow road and facing the difficulties, that come with it. The challenges become expert teachers and you the student.
Learn by fully embracing what the environment has to teach you. Sidestepping the hard things, places the praise on the cleverness. When the challenging activity is embraced versus being avoided, then the praise is placed on the process.
Many seek the glory, but few live within the statutes MY Glory requires. A thing is either hot or cold. It is either of MY Spirit or of the flesh, there is no middle ground. Doing the right thing, in the right way, for the right reasons produces Righteousness.
Revelation 3:15-16
I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm neither hot nor cold I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
