The world is overwhelmed with the act of consumption and falsely, the quality of the life lived is measured, by what can be afforded. Status, worth and importance are paraded as wealth. Happiness is measured in money.
A good name is now immaterial and substituted for material things. A designer item is traded for the true beauty of a master design. Popularity is confused with power and influence mistaken for control.
I AM bigger and far more important, than what a carnal existence has offered you. All that it dangles in front of you is temporal, but exacts a currency that is eternal. Are you trading your infinite gifting, for finite pleasures?
Only the prudent, will ask the question and few are bold enough, to take action, based on the answer. To the redeemed, your life is not your own and that life spent on pleasure, alone is a life squandered.
1 John 2:15-18
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour.
