The gift is free to every man, but the character and foundation has a high cost. Opinions are free to all, but the freedom to think is a luxury. To see a flaw is observant, but to overlook an offense is wisdom.
Not knowing the purpose of your gift will destroy those who receive it. A gift disconnected from the giver loses the purpose for the gift. A gift without a purpose, confuses the gift with the person , who possesses it.
A gift is a bridge, a pathway and a divine route, the one that possesses it is a steward. The gift is inextricably connected to its host, but the ultimate benefits are for others.
The vine and the fruit are attached. The fruit is alluring and attracts the most attention, but the fruit is an end. The vine is connected to the soil and the roots, it will provide more and more fruit, in time. Be the vine, because it is a beginning.
Luke 15:4-6
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.
