#510 – The Thin Barrier

It is hard to hear, when you are not listening and it is hard to see, when you purposely shut your eyes. Truth is an odd thing, it can be very difficult to accept, though it liberates and frees. It is difficult to get past the ego.

It is hard to get around pride and it is even more difficult to overcome offenses, when you feel justified. Forgiveness is a messy business, but a necessary one. It is the one thing, that is received, in the same measure, it is given.

As you hold people accountable for what they have said, what they have done and how they made you feel. Remember this, it also requires you to keep their accounts open. As you hold on to the hurt, you also hold yourself in the same place.

The rescuers and the victims have different responsibilities and roles, but if the rescuers are not aware. If the thin barrier, between the two extremes is breached, then the distinction from rescuer to victim will mean nothing.

Ephesians 4:31
Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.
