#545 – Bloom in the Hearts

Talking too much is a real problem. When your lips move faster, than your mind, the only outcome is saying more than you should. Life and death is in the power of the tongue, if you do not guard your tongue your words are like a ship with no rudder.

Once words have been spoken, it is difficult to take them back, you can apologize and receive forgiveness, but a more permanent solution is to repent. In order to avoid saying things that hinder you, have to change your intentions.

Words have power and for each one, there must be an account. Consider the listener and adjust what you say. Is your opinion and ability to speak, more important than the way another feels? Close your mouth and protect a heart.

It is through MY word, I created all that you see and have breathed life into every living thing. From you, I expect the same. Use the words that I have planted deep within you, to bloom, in the hearts and minds of others.

James 3:4-5
Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire!
