It is never too late to honor God, to repent from what is not working and commit to a better way of doing things. What you have done and the person the world expects is not the totality of who you are.
Your reputation has nothing to do with your potential. The callings of the world and the callings from on high are not the same, in fact, a time is coming when the two will be in direct opposition to the other.
As the enemy competes for your heart, he will settle for your attention. Once he has your attentions, he will then go after your passions, then your thoughts, then your beliefs and finally he will influence your behaviors.
The attentions, passions, thoughts, beliefs and behaviors are the composition of the heart. The enemy is successful in subduing it by a slow, steady conquering and a series of small compromises.
1 John 3:2
Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.
