It all boils down to what you believe. The belief is either born or adopted, whatever controls the thought, controls the behaviors. Whatever controls the behavior controls the man.
Many confuse a belief with a vow, if the behaviors match, then the belief prevails. The commitment is measured in the application and not declarations, what you say in contrast, to what you do.
There are things that you believe by default, because you have not critically searched out your heart, regarding the matter. This is both a good and bad thing.
As your belief systems come to light, question them all and evaluate each against the scriptures. You will find that what motivates and convicts your heart is unique and different from others.
1 John 4:1-2
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.
