#712 – The Sign, Gift, Purpose and Legacy

I have placed a unique thing in-hand to act on immediately, it is specific to this exact season and time. It is right at your fingertips and deserves your full attention.

You overlooked it, because it is not very savory or something you never thought to do, but its preordained. The object may be small and seeming insignificant, but the power is in your action, your obedience and your trust in ME.

To David, I gave a sling, to Moses I gave a staff, to a widow woman, I gave jars of oil and to Ruth, I gave Naomi. Some need to a throw a rock, others need to raise a staff, another bunch need to borrow a few jars and several need to cleave to a wise person.

What do you have in your hand? Focus first on the small thing or the sign, pouring all of your attention, efforts and focus there. This one function is about obedience and is the gateway to larger things.

The sign leads to the gift, the perfecting of the gift leads to the purpose, the execution of the purpose leads to the legacy. The legacy is carried from generation to generation.

2 Kings 4:2-7
So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.” Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.” So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”
