#718 – Do Not Build a Monument

Feel the feeling, then let the pain go. The words hurt and some of them are true, all of them are meant to pierce through the fatty layers of lies and polk your tender parts.

Underneath the veil of what the world sees, lays a version of you, that cannot be hidden by the illusions of strength, intelligence or the false security of powerful gifting.

The benefits of pain are the humility and self evaluation it demands. The pain in the flesh is a warning and the pain in the spirit is the same. It is a warning, that something is wrong and an intervention is needed.

Accept the pain, but not the abuse. Receive the message, but be mindful of the messenger. Allow the moment to guide your path, guard your heart and grant you insights, but do not build a monument to it.

Judges 6:25-27
Tear down your father’s altar to Baal and cut down the Asherah pole beside it. Then build a proper kind of altar to the Lord your God on the top of this height. Using the wood of the Asherah pole that you cut down, offer the second bull as a burnt offering.” So Gideon took ten of his servants and did as the Lord told him. But because he was afraid of his family and the townspeople, he did it at night rather than in the daytime.
